FNCB Bank is pleased to announce the winner of the “Great She Shed Giveaway” is Hazleton Area based Country Heart Farm. Open to non-profit organizations in the Bank’s service area, the FNCB Bank "She Shed" giveaway was held to find a new home for the temporary drive-thru building – The She Shed – used during construction of the Bank’s new Main Community Office in Dunmore. The $15,000 building features a fully plumbed restroom, heat, air conditioning and is wired for electricity. Country Heart Farm, located at 311 Hanna Street, Sugarloaf, provides comprehensive equine assisted psychotherapy and uniquely formatted hands-on educational programs to children of all ages and abilities. Children who attend programs at Country Heart Farm are most often abused, neglected and/or at risk for failing in the traditional educational settings. Many are high-risk youth from at or below poverty level households. Additionally, Country Heart Farm has a comprehensive therapy program for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. “The response to the contest was overwhelming,” said Jerry Champi, FNCB Bank President & CEO. “We had just under 100 entries and all were very deserving which made the selection process extremely difficult. Country Heart Farm’s mission to help heal children and veterans of all abilities and backgrounds as well as their need to help grow their program made them a very deserving winner.” Once site preparations are completed at Country Heart Farm, the She Shed will be delivered and put into service. “We are thrilled to be selected as the She Shed winner,” said Country Heart Farm Director Dr. Patricia Rodriguez-Hudson, DNP, CRNP. It will allow us to increase our direct community impact through effective, safe and affordable treatment options. The She Shed will allow us to create a year-round safe-haven space to conduct intake interviews, hold individual and family therapy sessions and after school academic support sessions.”
