First National Community Bank (FNCB), the largest community bank in Northeastern Pennsylvania, today announced an Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) donation to Honesdale Communities That Care.
The $2,000 donation will be used for their afterschool program at Lakeside Elementary School. The program provides a safe and educational environment for children from the time they are dismissed from school until their parents get home from work.
"The kids have a chance to play with their friends and get their homework done so they can spend more quality time at home with their families, said executive director Kathleen Grandjean. "This generous donation from FNCB will be used to keep the program running and to purchase school supplies such as pencils, calculators, books and magazines."
The support of Honesdale Communities That Care represents part of FNCBs larger Community Caring initiative. Through outreach programs, donations and an employee volunteer network, FNCB is committed to helping the communities they serve.
