Emerging Leaders Team Up With Boy Scout Troop 66
Employees from First National Community Bank (FNCB), the largest community bank in Northeastern Pennsylvania, recently teamed up with Boy Scout Troop 66 in Dunmore to help them raise funds and earn merit badges in Personal Management.
The two-part initiative began with a bake sale and raffle at the Villa Capri Cruiser Car Show at Nay Aug Park and ended with volunteers teaching the scouts financial literacy lessons through FNCB’s Teach Children to Save program.
"We taught the scouts the importance of saving, budgeting and prioritizing by incorporating real-life situations," said FNCB Customer Service Representative Liz D'Argenio. "Right now, many young people are focused on spending their money on the latest video game and don’t always realize the expenses that come later, like a car and school. We encouraged them to think long term."
The partnership with Boy Scout Troop 66 is part of FNCB's Emerging Leaders Program, a year-long employee development course that focuses on building leadership skills and teamwork. Through the program, employees design team-based projects aimed at meeting specific needs in the local community.
Founded in 1910, FNCB supports its mission: Simply a better bank™ with an endless commitment to the communities they serve. FNCB is the largest community bank in Northeastern Pennsylvania leading the way in personal, small business and commercial banking solutions. For more information, visit www.fncb.com
