FNCB tabs Steamtown Marathon winner for Ryan’s Run Kevin Borrelli joins FNCB & Team Leckey to raise funds for Allied Services
First National Community Bank (FNCB), the largest community bank in Northeastern Pennsylvania, today announced that two-time Steamtown Marathon winner Kevin Borrelli will represent the bank on "Team Leckey" during the 2012 Ryan's Run.
FNCB, along with WNEP-TV's Ryan Leckey and 18 other Team Leckey members, is taking part in Ryan's Run to raise awareness and donation support to help the work of Allied Services in improving the lives of children and adults with disabilities and life-changing injuries. The campaign culminates November 4 with team members running the 26.2 mile New York City Marathon.
As a major sponsor of Ryan’s Run, FNCB was able to send one entrant to the marathon - the largest in the world with more than 45,000 participants.
Following successful running careers at Mid Valley High School and Duquesne University, Borrelli continued racing competitively and most notably was the back-to-back winner of the Steamtown Marathon in 2008 and 2009.
Borrelli, a long-time customer of FNCB, is looking forward to the challenge and the opportunity to help the Bank support Allied Services.
"I am thrilled to represent FNCB in this prestigious race, said Borrelli. "The New York City Marathon was always a goal of mine. I’m looking forward to the challenge and to helping FNCB raise money for a great cause."
In addition to the FNCB corporate sponsorship, members of the community are encouraged to support Borrelli by making a pledge through the "You Too Can Be a Winner" campaign at fncb.com. For every $26.20 pledged, donors will receive an official Ryan’s Run exercise shirt and wristband.
"It’s my goal to raise the most money of the Team Leckey members," he added. "Hopefully many of the fans who cheered for me in the Steamtown Marathon will support me this year by making a pledge."
The partnership with Ryan’s Run continues a long tradition of FNCB supporting Allied Services’ mission and work.
"The importance of the therapy services Allied provides children and adults with disabilities and life-changing injuries can’t be understated," said Steve Tokach, President and Chief Executive Officer of FNCB. "We are honored to help bring cutting-edge rehab technology to our local community by supporting Kevin, Allied Services and Team Leckey in 2012."
Founded in 1910, FNCB supports its mission: Simply a better bank™ with an endless commitment to the communities we serve.
