FNCB ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT, APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTORS
J. David Lombardi, Acting Chairman of the Board of First National Community Bancorp Inc., announced today that John R. Thomas has notified the company of his desire to retire from the Board of Directors effective February 27, 2008. Mr. Thomas has been associated with the company and its subsidiary, First National Community Bank, for over 40 years and has contributed greatly to the success of the company. Mr. Thomas was named to the Board of Directors in 1967 and since that time has witnessed the growth of the organization from one office and $11 million in assets to a $1.3 billion company with nineteen offices covering four counties. Mr. Thomas has been appointed Director Emeritus of the company and the Bank.
The Board also announced today that Dr. Louis A. DeNaples, Jr. has been appointed to the Boards of both companies to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Mr. Thomas. Dr. DeNaples is currently the Medical Director of Community Medical Center's Emergency Department, NEPA's Regional Trauma Center, in Scranton. Mr. Lombardi stated that "we are very fortunate to be in the position to add a director of Dr. Louis' distinction who has strong roots in our community. I feel confident that he will work closely with the existing Board and Management to contribute to the continued growth and success of this fine institution."
