Donation provides financial assistance to Summer Learning Program
First National Community Bank (FNCB), a Northeastern Pennsylvania community bank leader, today announced a donation to the Greater Scranton YMCA as part of its $181,000 Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) commitment for 2013.
The donation will help the YMCA fund their Summer Learning Program.
"During the summer months children need to keep their minds engaged," said Midge MacArthur, FNCB Vice President, Regional Manager.
"When we heard about the YMCA's program to help fill this educational gap, we
jumped at the chance to support them and help ensure no child is turned away."
The support of the Greater Scranton YMCA represents part of FNCB's larger Community Caring initiative. Through outreach programs, donations and an employee volunteer network, FNCB is committed to helping the communities they serve.
