FNCB to participate in Dunmore’s 150th Anniversary Celebration
Bank hosting mini-event during August 16 parade
First National Community Bank (FNCB), the largest community bank in Northeastern Pennsylvania, today announced plans to participate in Dunmore Borough's 150th Anniversary Celebration.
FNCB has been part of the fabric of Dunmore for more than 100 years since opening as the First National Bank of Dunmore in 1910 at Dunmore Corners - a location they still occupy. Since then, they have added an administrative center on South Blakely St. and a Wheeler Avenue community office that combine to employ more than 130 people in the borough.
The bank is encouraging members of the community to watch the Sesquicentennial Parade on Thursday, August 16, from the patio of their 102 East Drinker St. community office.
The parade steps off at 6 p.m. from Dunmore High School and will pass directly in front of the branch. In addition to being an event sponsor, FNCB will be hosting a mini-celebration for parade-goers from 5-7 p.m.
"We will have music, popcorn, refreshments, balloons for the kids and even a commemorative pennant giveaway," said First Senior Vice President/Chief Administrative Officer and life-long Dunmore resident Robert Mancuso. "We have been a proud member of the Dunmore community for more than 100 years and are excited to be part of the sesquicentennial celebration."
The parade is the kick-off for Dunmore’s 150th Anniversary Festival that runs through August 18th at Sherwood Park.
"The parade and festival are a great way to pay tribute to the long history of the borough and we encourage everyone to attend," added Mancuso.
Founded in 1910, FNCB supports its mission: Simply a better bank™ with an endless commitment to the communities we serve.
