At FNCB, we believe that basic financial literacy is the foundation for the long-term success of our communities. Teaching children and young adults about money and finances is the first step in ensuring financially responsible and aware adults. Through a variety of programs, FNCB strives to give area students the building blocks for a lifetime of financial success.
Our team of education ambassadors present savings lessons at elementary and middle schools across Northeastern Pennsylvania. Discussion topics vary by age/grade level, all focusing on the importance of responsible money management. Annually, more than 1,500 students are impacted through the lessons aligned with Pennsylvania’s academic standards. Geared toward high school students, FNCB’s Get Smart About Credit program teaches young adults how to budget, manage a credit card, read a credit report, protect personal financial information and recognize the signs of overspending. These need-to-know facts are critically important for anyone using credit for the first time.
