FNCB Bank, locally-based for over 100 years, recently presented representatives from the SPCA of Luzerne County with a $1,010.00 donation raised through a bank wide “Jeans for a Cause” dress down day in November.
The SPCA of Luzerne County’s mission is the prevention of cruelty to animals and is funded entirely by the kindness and generosity of community businesses and individuals. FNCB’s contribution will be used for the care of animals including food and vet bills.
FNCB’s monthly fundraising effort encourages employees to make small donations in exchange for the opportunity to wear jeans to work. All employee donations are matched dollar for dollar by the bank. The SPCA was nominated by Jenny Severs, Assistant Vice President/Retail Training Coordinator.
“The SPCA of Luzerne County helps give a voice to those that cannot speak for themselves, said Severs. “Animal neglect and abuse still remains a huge problem and I have so much respect for those that spend their time and energy caring for these animals, usually with limited resources.”
Since launching Jeans for a Cause in 2014, FNCB employees have raised $25,591 for local non-profit organizations.
