FNCB Bank, locally-based for over 100 years, recently presented representatives from the Boys & Girls Clubs of NEPA with a $708.00 donation raised through a bank wide “Jeans for a Cause” dress down day in November.
The Scranton based Boys & Girls Clubs of NEPA is open to all kids ages 6-18 and helps build character through everyday leadership and guidance in behavior and attitude. Young people of all nationalities and races come together in wholesome recreation and companionship. The Boys & Girls Clubs show young people that someone cares and wants them to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens of our local community.
FNCB’s monthly fundraising effort encourages employees to make small donations in exchange for the opportunity to wear jeans to work. All employee donations are matched dollar for dollar by the bank. Paul Dunda, FNCB Senior Vice President, Application Services Manager, nominated the Boys & Girls Club.
“The Boys & Girls Clubs of NEPA provides a safe and positive environment for youth to develop into productive and caring citizens,” said Dunda. “The club teaches values and leadership, and allows the youth of today to develop character and integrity to build a better life for themselves and for their community.”
Since launching the Jeans for a Cause program, FNCB employees have raised $37,698 for local non-profit organizations.
