FNCB Bank, locally-based for over 100 years, recently presented representatives from the Boys & Girls Clubs of NEPA with a $794.00 donation raised through a bank wide “Jeans for a Cause” dress down day in September.
The Scranton based Boys & Girls Clubs of NEPA is open to all kids ages 6-18 and helps build character through everyday leadership and guidance in behavior and attitude. Young people of all nationalities and races come together in wholesome recreation and companionship. The Boys & Girls Clubs show young people that someone cares and wants them to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens of our local community.
The fundraising effort encourages employees bank-wide to make a small donation in exchange for the opportunity to wear jeans to work. The Boys & Girls Clubs of NEPA was nominated by Elaine Davis, FNCB Credit Administrative Assistant.
“Sometimes all it takes to pique your interest is to hear what goes on behind the scenes in an organization and you realize how valuable that organization is to the community. The Boys & Girls Clubs of NEPA empowers kids to support and influence their community, sustain meaningful relationships, develop a positive self-image, participate in the demographic process and respect their own and other’s cultural identities. We are thrilled to be able to help support their mission.”
The support of the Boys and Girls Clubs of NEPA is part of FNCB’s larger Community Caring initiative. As a true, local community bank, FNCB is making a difference through volunteerism, donations and outreach programs.
FNCB Bank, locally-based for over 100 years, continues as Northeastern Pennsylvania's premier community bank — offering a full suite of personal, small business and commercial banking solutions with industry-leading mobile, online and in-branch products and services.
