FNCB Christmas in July Food Drive a Big Success

Employees and customers donate more than 1,000 pounds of food

For the fourth straight year, FNCB Bank collected over 1,000 pounds of food to benefit area food pantries and soup kitchens through their recently completed "Christmas in July" food drive.

Throughout the month of July, in partnership with WBRE and WYOU TV, FNCB collected canned goods, non-perishable food items and monetary donations at each of their 18 community offices in Lackawanna, Luzerne and Wayne counties, as well as employee administrative centers.

The donations will help stock shelves at Catholic Social Services food pantries and the Weinberg Regional Food Bank.

"Every year, our customers, employees and members of the community continue their generosity by filling the donations boxes,” said Mike Cummings, FNCB Assistant Vice President, Marketing Manager. "At a time of the year when pantry shelves are desperately low, the items collected as well as considerable monetary donations will help many local families in need."

The Christmas in July drive represents part of FNCB's larger Community Caring initiative. Through outreach programs, donations and an employee volunteer network, FNCB is committed to helping the communities they serve.
