FNCB Bank Employees Dress Down for Miles for Michael Fund

Jeans for a Cause raises funds for a different organization every month

FNCB Bank, locally-based for over 100 years, recently presented representatives from Miles for Michael Fund with an $854.00 donation raised through a bank wide “Jeans for a Cause” dress down day in March.

The Miles for Michael Fund was created by the Joyce family in loving memory of Michael Joyce who passed away at the age of 43 after a courageous battle with cancer. Addressing the needs of cancer patients and their families, the fund provides support for unexpected expenses such as travel, lodging, food, gas and tolls that will help families to remain with loved ones during treatment and recovery.

FNCB’s monthly fundraising effort encourages employees to make small donations in exchange for the opportunity to wear jeans to work. All employee donations are matched dollar for dollar by the bank. Miles for Michael was nominated by Mike Barrouk, FNCB Assistant Vice President, Commercial Officer.

Assistant Vice President, Commercial Officer. “Miles for Michael helped my brother and his family when he was diagnosed with cancer,” said Barrouk. “Along with the help of my coworkers, we are able to pay it forward to another family in need.”

Since launching Jeans for a Cause in 2014, FNCB employees have raised $29,040 for local non-profit organizations.
