FNCB, locally-based for over 100 years, recently presented representatives from Brandon's Forever Home, Hazleton, with a $1,000.00 donation raised through a bank wide "Jeans for a Cause" dress down day in February.
Brandon's Forever Home is a 501c3 charitable organization created to raise awareness about children in foster care and their need for permanent loving homes. Its founding members, Rep. Tarah Toohil and Attorney Lorine Angelo Ogurkis, realized the need in their community and decided to start the foundation to assist children.
The organization was nominated by Bridget Connor, Teller, FNCB Clarks Green Community Office.
"I can't imagine being a child placed in foster care not knowing if I would ever have a forever home," said Connor. "Brandon's Forever Home makes it their mission to ensure every child that comes into their program is provided a travel bag with toiletries and the basics so they don’t travel from placement with their belongings in garbage bags."
The support of Brandon’s Forever Home is part of FNCB’s larger Community Caring initiative. As a true, local community bank, FNCB is making a difference through volunteerism, donations and outreach programs.
First National Community Bank, locally-based for over 100 years, continues as Northeastern Pennsylvania's premier community bank - offering a full suite of personal, small business and commercial banking solutions with industry-leading mobile, online and in-branch products and services. FNCB remains dedicated to the communities they serve with an on-going mission to be: Simply a better bank™. For more information, visit www.fncb.com.
FNCB presents a $1,000 donation to Brandon’s Forever Home raised through their Jeans for a Cause dress down day in February. The fundraising effort encourages employees to make a small donation in exchange for the opportunity to wear jeans to work one Friday every month. FNCB provides a corporate match of all donations collected. L-R: Tammy Shuman, Customer Service Representative, Hazleton FNCB and Lorine Angelo Ogurkis, Esq., Co-Founder Brandon’s Forever Home
