FNCB Bank Employees Dress Down for St. Vincent DePaul Kitchen

Jeans for a Cause raises funds for a different organization every month

FNCB Bank, locally-based for over 100 years, recently presented a check for $1062.00 to St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen raised through a bank wide “Jeans for a Cause” dress down day in December.

St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen responds to the unmet need of poverty and hunger in the Wyoming Valley. Located in downtown Wilkes-Barre, the Kitchen serves 300 guests daily a hot, nutritious meal. St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen is the only mass-feeding program in Luzerne County and they serve anyone in need of a meal without question or restrictions on guests.

FNCB’s monthly fundraising effort encourages employees to make small donations in exchange for the opportunity to wear jeans to work. All employee donations are matched dollar for dollar by the bank. Sara Matusinski, Assistant Vice President, Branch Operations Specialist, nominated St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen.

“Saint Vincent de Paul Kitchen offers lunch and dinner time meals to anyone walking in every single day of the year,” said Matusinski. “The service they offer to the residents of the Wyoming Valley is remarkable.”

Since launching the Jeans for a Cause program, FNCB employees have raised $38,760 for local non-profit organizations.
